MLQ PROGRAMS

The Maple Leaf Quilters Guild is based in Rutland, Vermont.  Approximately 85 members create everything from traditional pieced quilts to art quilts, using techniques including, (but not limited to) delicate hand quilting, traditional piecing, dramatic machine quilting, precise applique and paper piecing.

Maple Leaf Quilters have a variety of programs: educational, community service oriented and fun!

Our September, October, November, April and May meetings feature a guest speaker from out of the area.  One Fall and one Spring speaker holds a full day workshop on the following day.

In February we typically have a guest speaker from the immediate Rutland area, often calling on our own talented members.

January is community service month, with a Saturday meeting to stitch and create a quilt to donate to a local organization to use in their fundraising efforts.

Even years are quilt show and quilt raffle time.  They are our primary source of funding.

Odd years we often hold an auction in March...members donate items and often go home with an equal number of "new" treasures.
