The Maple Leaf Quilters' Guild was formed by our charter members in 1981 to encourage the art of quilting in the Rutland area.
Approximately 80 - 100 members create everything from traditional pieced quilts to art
quilts, using techniques including, but not limited to, delicate hand quilting, dramatic machine quilting, precise applique, paper piecing and modern quilting.
Since 1989, the Guild has been actively involved in community service projects. Members annually make a community service quilt which is given to a designated organization for their use in fundraising activities.
Other Community Service includes our Comfort Blankets and our Support of the NewStory Center
Maple Leaf Quilters Guild meetings are on the third Tuesday of Sept, Oct, Nov, Feb, March, April and May. Meetings are held at Christ The King Church Parish Hall (downstairs), 66 South Main Street, Rutland, Vermont.
A social time with refreshments begin at 6:30, and the meeting begins promptly at 7pm.
New members are always welcome. There is a $4.00 meeting fee for non-members and guests.
